Using a Pendulum To Access Your Subconscious Mind
A pendulum is a sacred tool that you can use to access your subconscious mind. It provides answers that, deep down, we know but that are currently blocked by the clutter and chatter of our egos. Pendulums allow us to bypass the chatter and reach the wise guidance of our higher selves.
Here’s how it works
A pendulum is held from the ball at the top of its chain, and asked yes-or-no questions. Your subconscious mind generates tiny nerve reactions in your finger tips, allowing your pendulum to answer by swinging to indicate yes or no.
Find a quiet space where you won't be interrupted. Sit in a comfortable position but make sure your legs are uncrossed—crossed legs can block energy and interfere with your reading. I suggest sitting at a table where you can rest the elbow of the hand holding the pendulum.
Cleanse Your Pendulum
Cleanse your pendulum. Run it through some white sage or palo santo smoke and allow the smoke to cleanse and purify your pendulum. Do this before each use. Say out loud or silently “I cleanse and purify this sacred pendulum, allowing it to connect to my subconscious mind and give me information that is in my highest good.”
Calibrate Your Pendulum
Calibrating your pendulum is a simple process. Lightly hold the top of the pendulum between your thumb and second and third fingers. Ask it “yes” questions, such as, “Is my name (your name) ?”, “Do I live in (your city)?” The pendulum will either swing north to south or east to west. The direction the pendulum swings for these questions will be your "yes" for this reading.
Then ask the same questions, inserting a name and city, that are untrue. The pendulum will swing the opposite direction than it did for “yes.” Now you’re ready to start asking your questions. Remember to use only “yes” or “no” questions. There may be times when the pendulum moves in circles. If this happens, check in with yourself; make sure you’re relaxed and holding the pendulum lightly. Ask your question again and if you receive the same response, simply accept it as "I don’t know." When you’re finished, thank your pendulum and your higher self for working with you.
Now you’re ready for the fun and satisfaction of working with your pendulum—enjoy!
